Abstract

This case study explores the intricate interplay of emotional pain, physical discomfort, and past-life karmic residues in the context of holistic healing. The client presented with persistent psychosomatic symptoms, unexplained physical ailments, and chronic emotional distress that did not respond effectively to conventional psychological or medical interventions. Through an integrative therapeutic process involving subconscious energy healing, hypnotherapy, and regression techniques, layers of unresolved emotional trauma and physical blockages were systematically addressed. Notably, the client’s healing journey revealed significant insights related to karmic imprints and unresolved experiences from perceived past-life memories, which appeared to influence current life patterns and psychosomatic expressions. Emotional pain was seen to manifest as physical discomfort, often serving as symbolic expressions of unresolved inner conflicts. The therapeutic process aimed not only to relieve symptoms but to restore inner coherence by acknowledging the interconnectedness of body, mind, and soul. The integration of Eastern philosophical perspectives with Western clinical approaches provided a multidimensional framework to understand the etiology of suffering beyond linear timelines. This case underscores the need for a paradigm shift in clinical psychology towards models that honor the psych spiritual dimensions of human experience. Holistic healing, in this context, becomes a transformative journey of releasing energetic residues, reclaiming emotional wholeness, and re-aligning with a more integrated self. The study advocates for broader acceptance of spiritually oriented healing methodologies in mainstream practice, especially for clients whose distress transcends conventional diagnostic categories.

Introduction

In an era where psychosomatic disorders are becoming increasingly prevalent, there is a growing demand for therapeutic approaches that transcend conventional mind-body frameworks and incorporate the soul as a crucial dimension of healing. Psychosomatic symptoms often emerge when unresolved emotional conflicts, trauma, or energetic blockages manifest through the body, challenging the limits of traditional medical and psychological treatments. This paper illustrates such complexity through the case of a 38-year-old schoolteacher navigating the emotional upheaval of a divorce. Despite being professionally competent and intellectually sound, she reported chronic abdominal pain and emotional heaviness that conventional clinical interventions failed to resolve.

Subconscious Energy Healing Therapy (SEHT) was introduced at this juncture as a regression-based, integrative healing modality. Grounded in transpersonal psychology, energy medicine, and karmic healing, SEHT offers a non-invasive approach that enables clients to access subconscious and superconscious layers of the psyche. This allows buried emotional imprints and karmic residues often inaccessible through talk therapy to be brought into conscious awareness, processed, and released. In this case, the client accessed powerful symbolic imagery and unresolved grief tied to both current and possible past-life relational trauma, resulting in the release of stagnated energy stored in the abdominal region, an area often associated with personal power, identity, and emotional digestion. Post-intervention, she reported significant physical relief, emotional clarity, and a renewed sense of inner alignment.

The literature supports the effectiveness of SEHT across various psychological conditions. Banerjee et al.1 explored SEHT in the context of relationship counselling, revealing how subconscious patterns influence relational dynamics and conflict resolution. Bhatt et al.2 presented SEHT as a viable intervention for anxiety management among young professionals, emphasizing its integrative and client-centered nature. Banerjee et al.3 further explored SEHT’s potential in unmasking deceptive behavioral tendencies in narcissistic individuals, offering a psych spiritual perspective on personality pathology. These findings collectively advocate SEHT as a flexible and effective tool for addressing deeply rooted emotional and interpersonal challenges.

Complementary modalities such as soul mandala therapy have also been integrated with SEHT in various therapeutic settings. Puri et al.4 and Bhatt et al.5 highlighted the role of soul mandalas in emotional catharsis and psychological stabilization, offering clients a creative and symbolic means of expression. In another study, Bhatt et al.6 documented the use of soul mandalas in managing acute stress disorder in adolescents, while also noting its success in regulating aggression in children, showcasing the adaptability of this technique across age groups and psychological conditions.

Further expanding the scope of holistic therapeutic environments, Puri et al.7 explored how psychology colour and interior design influence emotional well-being, particularly in spiritual and geriatric care settings. Their findings suggest that physical spaces can either hinder or enhance healing, especially when combined with energy-based modalities.

Metaphysical frameworks have also gained traction in clinical psychology. Gupta et al.8 discussed the use of Past Life Regression Therapy (PLRT) in uncovering deep emotional truths and karmic influences that shape current-life behavior and suffering. Similarly, Girdhar et al.9 employed SEHT to facilitate emotional release and behavioral transformation in adolescents exhibiting self-harming tendencies, reinforcing the importance of psych spiritual approaches in youth mental health.

Together, these studies underscore the necessity of evolving therapeutic paradigms toward a more integrative, mindful model that encompasses the psychological, emotional, energetic, and spiritual dimensions of human experience. SEHT emerges as a powerful modality within this paradigm, enabling transformative healing where conventional therapies may fall short.

Case study

The clients’ physical symptoms did not align with any organic pathology. Repeated medical investigations failed to provide concrete answers. She reported:

  1. A constant gnawing pain in the stomach region.
  2. Fatigue and lack of motivation.
  3. Emotional heaviness, especially linked to guilt and parenting stress.
  4. Feeling trapped in past events and unresolved emotional loops.
  5. Her background also included a challenging marital relationship and intense over-identification with her role as a mother, leading to emotional burnout and spiritual disconnect.

The client presented with a chronic, gnawing pain in the stomach region, resistant to medical intervention and devoid of any physiological diagnosis, pointing toward a psychosomatic manifestation of deeper unresolved emotional conflicts. This persistent physical discomfort was accompanied by psychological fatigue and motivational depletion, significantly impacting her daily functioning, relational engagement, and sense of vitality.

Emotionally, the client described a profound sense of heaviness, predominantly rooted in guilt and internalized parenting stress. Her maternal role, while central to her identity, had become a source of emotional burden rather than fulfillment. She often oscillated between self-blame and emotional overinvestment, reflecting a rigid internal schema of perfectionism and self-sacrifice, which perpetuated feelings of inadequacy and emotional exhaustion.

A recurring theme in her narrative was a perceived entrapment in unresolved emotional loops, with past experiences especially relational traumas and unmet needs replaying repetitively in her inner world. These unresolved narratives had become internalized, contributing to a state of emotional stasis and impairing her ability to move forward with clarity or resilience.

Her marital history was marked by prolonged emotional distress, characterized by a lack of emotional reciprocity, conflict avoidance, and unmet psychological intimacy. In response, she had developed an intense over-identification with her role as a mother, which, while initially adaptive, eventually became maladaptive and all-consuming, leading to emotional burnout and a fracturing of her core self-identity.

At a deeper level, this dynamic contributed to a spiritual disconnect, wherein the client reported feeling disoriented, depleted, and estranged from her inner sense of purpose. The absence of inner alignment and self-compassion reflected a fragmentation between her emotional, psychological, and spiritual selves, creating a void that intensified her suffering.

This presentation underscores the need for an integrative therapeutic approach one that not only addresses surface-level symptoms but also facilitates the reconnection of body, mind, and spirit, helping the client reclaim agency, restore emotional boundaries, and re-anchor herself in a more grounded and authentic selfhood.

The regression healing journey

  1. Room of recognition

In a serene, warm, and familiar room, the client visualized a man named Shiv, whom she instantly recognized at a soul level as a partner from a past life. The space radiated emotional security, grounding, and unconditional acceptance—qualities deeply absent in her current life. This powerful experience evoked a profound sense of belonging and illuminated her unmet emotional needs, particularly her longing for soulful connection, inner stability, and the deep relational safety she subconsciously yearned for.

  1. The hug and healing touch

As she embraced Shiv, he gently placed his hand over her stomach. This symbolic act triggered an energetic release. The stomach area often associated with unprocessed grief, guilt, and control issues responded immediately to the energetic intervention. As she embraced Shiv, his gentle touch over her stomach became more than physical it served as a conduit for release. The area, often linked to repressed grief and guilt, responded instantly, as if years of emotional tension had found permission to let go through the quiet, healing power of connection.

  1. Soul messages

Shiv conveyed that he would reappear “when the time is right.” This reflects the concept of divine timing and karmic closure, providing Sonia emotional relief from seeking validation or outcomes in her current relationships.

  1. Guidance for her son

A gentle message of “patience” emerged for her son, symbolizing the importance of allowing his growth to unfold naturally. This insight encouraged the client to release her tendency toward over-parenting, embracing trust over control, and fostering a more balanced, nurturing space for his emotional and developmental autonomy.

  1. Guilt and release

She was gently guided to acknowledge and release the guilt she had been carrying guilt rooted in unresolved past experiences and emotional overwhelm. This compassionate recognition allowed a deep emotional catharsis, which was subtly mirrored by a sense of physical relief, marking the beginning of inner ease and emotional liberation.

  1. Universal integration

The session culminated in a profound moment of universal integration, where Sonia experienced herself dissolving into a field of radiant light. This state symbolized deep soul-level peace, emotional release, and spiritual alignment—marked by a sense of forgiveness, wholeness, and reconnection with a higher, unified consciousness beyond personal suffering.

Therapeutic implications

Based on this session, an integrative treatment plan was proposed:

The thematic exploration of this case reveals an intricate interplay of unresolved emotional trauma, karmic imprints, and subconscious patterns rooted in both personal and ancestral experiences. A central theme that emerged was the presence of deep-rooted trauma stored within the womb space, signifying not only the physical and emotional toll of past relational experiences but also the symbolic burden of suppressed grief, guilt, and unfulfilled maternal longing. Through womb healing meditations, the client began accessing these stored energies in a safe and guided space, gradually dissolving the emotional toxicity and pain that had long been manifesting somatically in her body. These meditations allowed her to connect with the inner feminine essence, reclaim her creative and nurturing power, and begin transmuting trauma into self-awareness and healing.

Another core theme centered on unresolved attachments and relational entanglements, particularly with a figure named Shiv, whose energetic presence lingered in her psyche. This bond, interpreted as a karmic tie, carried forward grief, guilt, and unresolved emotions from a past-life connection or significant romantic relationship. To address this, cord-cutting rituals were employed—not as a denial of the relationship’s impact—but as a sacred and conscious act of emotional detachment. These rituals helped the client gently release the guilt associated with the dissolution of the bond, while acknowledging the role it played in her spiritual evolution. The act of energetic release was essential in breaking repeated cycles of co-dependence, grief, and self-blame.

In conjunction with these practices, the client engaged in affirmation therapy to reprogram deeply ingrained guilt and shame narratives. A key affirmation that guided her healing journey was: “I release all guilt and trust the timing of the Universe.” Repeating this affirmation allowed her to surrender control, dissolve internal resistance, and gradually build self-trust. It facilitated the shift from emotional constriction to spiritual surrender, encouraging her to embrace divine timing over perfectionistic parenting or relational outcomes.

To process unresolved emotional residues safely, the client was encouraged to write unsent letters to Shiv, allowing her to express unspoken words, lingering pain, and hidden truths in a non-confrontational manner. This therapeutic technique acted as a container for suppressed emotions, enabling catharsis, clarity, and emotional closure. Through this, she was able to acknowledge her unmet needs and buried grief while also honoring the depth of the connection without attachment.

A crucial and evolving theme was her role as a mother. Mindful parenting guidance was introduced to help her understand how her unresolved emotional baggage could unconsciously influence her parenting style. The focus shifted from micro-controlling tendencies to fostering emotional autonomy in her son. By embodying self-trust and emotional regulation, she gradually learned to allow her child to develop his own sense of agency, rather than projecting her anxieties or fears onto him. This not only marked the beginning of intergenerational healing but also opened the path for a more conscious and emotionally attuned parent-child relationship.

In essence, the case highlighted the journey of a woman moving from emotional entrapment and karmic stagnation toward self-liberation, spiritual maturity, and conscious parenting. Through integrated healing practices, she was able to reclaim her inner strength and realign with her soul’s path.

Significance of the case

This case underscores the psychosomatic link between physical discomfort and unresolved emotional or karmic imprints, particularly in symbolically sensitive regions like the womb. Sonia’s chronic abdominal pain served as a somatic expression of suppressed grief, guilt, and relational entanglement. Her healing journey highlights the necessity of addressing multidimensional layers emotional, energetic, and spiritual rather than treating symptoms in isolation. Through integrative interventions, she experienced not only pain relief but a deeper energetic realignment, enabling her to reconnect with her professional identity and parent from a place of emotional clarity, mindfulness, and authentic presence. The case affirms the body as a vessel of unresolved narrative.
